Vape Kits

How to choose a kit or a pod

A vape kit brings together everything you need to vape: battery, tank and coil. The right choice depends mostly on how you vape and how much time you want to spend adjusting the device.

Pod kit or box mod kit: what is the difference?

A pod kit is about simplicity: compact format, a pod that clips in and few settings, suited to everyday vaping on the go. A box mod kit brings more power and more control, with a screen, several modes and often a screw-on tank. In between, models like the Target 80 or the Argus G3 combine the ease of a pod with the power of a box mod.

Which battery life should I choose?

The battery life of a kit depends on its battery. Compact pod kits, like the XROS 5 Mini, last a good day with a lighter battery. Box mod kits like the Aegis Legend 2 or the Drag 5 carry a bigger built-in battery, up to 3,000mAh, or work with a removable 18650 battery that you swap in a few seconds. Charging is almost always over USB-C, from 1 to 3A depending on the model.

MTL, DL or RDL: which draw for which e-liquid?

The draw of a kit depends on its coil and its airflow setting. A tight draw, known as MTL (close to a cigarette), suits e-liquids with a high nicotine strength, as on the XROS 5. An airy draw, known as DL, produces more vapour and needs a low-strength liquid, typical of box mods like the Drag 6. In between, RDL lets a little more air through than a standard MTL. Most recent pod kits, like the Argus Pro 2, switch from one to the other simply by changing the coil.

Where can I find spare parts?

Coil running low, empty pod or cracked glass: each kit has its own dedicated spare parts, gathered on the Vape Hardware page. They are sorted by exact reference, to be found on your device's product page.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a pod kit and a box mod kit?

A pod kit is a compact format with a pod that clips in, designed to be picked up and used straight away, like the pod kits on this page. A box mod kit is bulkier, with a screen and several power modes, to be found in the box mod kits. The choice depends mostly on whether you want to adjust your hardware or not.

Do I need a separate battery with a box mod kit?

It depends on the model: some box mod kits like the Drag 6 carry a built-in battery rechargeable over USB-C, while others work with one or two removable 18650 batteries to charge separately. The product page of each kit states the type of power supply.

Can you vape while charging your kit?

Yes for most recent pod kits, which charge over USB-C while in use, like the XROS 5 Mini. Box mod kits with a removable battery do not charge while you vape: you need to take the battery out or use an external charger.

Which kit should I choose to start with?

A simple pod kit, with no settings to make, suits beginners best: the XROS 5 or the Wenax Q can be picked up in a few minutes, with a draw close to a cigarette and simple filling.

Does the kit include the coil and the e-liquid?

The starter coil or coils come with the kit, fitted or in the box depending on the model. E-liquid is never included: you choose it separately from the e-liquids according to the draw and the strength you want.
