Batteries & Chargers

How do I choose a battery and a charger?

A removable battery powers box mods that have no built-in battery: it determines the battery life of the device and its ability to deliver power, and it is also the first part to wear out over time.

18650 or 21700: which battery size?

The 18650 size, like the LG HG2 battery or the Maxicell battery, is the most common in compact box mods. The 21700 size, like the Samsung 21700 battery, is larger and has more capacity: it fits box mods built with this wider compartment, never the two sizes interchangeably.

Which amp rating for which use?

The amp rating of a battery shows the current it can deliver continuously: our products go up to 20 amps. A box mod set to low power is happy with a modest amp rating, while a box mod pushed to high power needs a battery that can keep up without overheating.

External charger or built-in cable?

A box mod with a USB port recharges its battery without taking it out, using a simple cable, like the one supplied with the Wave Concept car charger. A battery taken out of its box mod, on the other hand, is recharged on a dedicated external charger, with 2 bays like the C2 charger or 4 bays like the C4 charger, handy for charging several batteries at once.

Looking after your batteries so they last

Keep a battery away from heat and damp, with its contacts clean and its wrap intact. A pierced or torn wrap is a sign that it is time to replace it rather than carry on using it as it is.

Frequently asked questions

18650 or 21700 battery, how do I tell them apart?

A 21700 battery is larger and has more capacity than an 18650 battery, but the two sizes are not interchangeable: only the compartment of the box mod shows which one it accepts.

Which charger should I choose when I have several batteries?

A charger with 4 bays, like the C4 charger, charges several batteries in one go. A more compact charger with 2 bays is enough if you only use one spare battery.

How long does an e-cigarette battery last?

A battery lasts several months of daily use on average before its battery life drops. A clear drop in the time between two charges is a sign that it is nearing the end of its life.

Can I charge a battery directly in the box mod?

Yes, when the box mod has a USB charging port, the battery is recharged without being taken out, with a simple cable. Without this port, the battery has to be taken out and placed on an external charger.
