Drip Tips

How do I choose a drip tip?

The drip tip is the mouthpiece the vapour passes through: it is the only part of the kit in direct, constant contact with the mouth, and the one that influences comfort and the heat you feel with every puff.

510 or 810: which size for your kit?

The 510 size is the slimmer of the two, inherited from the first tanks and still found on many pods and MTL kits. The wider 810 size mostly fits tanks and atomizers designed for direct-to-lung vaping, like the TFV16 or models using a loose 810 mouthpiece. The diameter of the opening on the tank determines which one to choose.

Comfort in the mouth and the feeling of heat

The length and shape of the drip tip change the way the vapour reaches the mouth: a longer, narrower mouthpiece, like the Whistle Long, cools the vapour more before it reaches the lips. A short, wide one leaves it warmer and denser.

Why change your drip tip regularly?

A drip tip wears and dulls over time, especially on a device used daily or shared. Replacing it regularly, for a few euros, keeps the contact in the mouth clean without touching the rest of the tank.

Drip tip with a filter: what is it for?

A drip tip with a filter, like the Vilter filters, traps some of the condensation residue before it reaches the mouth. The filter is changed separately, without replacing the whole mouthpiece.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if a drip tip is compatible with my tank?

A drip tip is compatible when its size, 510 or 810, matches the opening on the tank, and when the model name shown on the product page matches your device.

Is there a universal drip tip?

A universal drip tip exists for each basic size, 510 or 810, like this unbranded 810 model, but it does not replace a mouthpiece specific to a kit that uses its own fitting or shape.

Do I need to clean my drip tip, and how often?

Yes, a drip tip should be cleaned regularly, ideally every week, with warm water and soap, to remove the liquid residue that builds up over the puffs.

Is the 810 size suitable for mouth-to-lung (MTL) vaping?

No, an 810 size is mostly for open, direct-to-lung vaping: for a tight vape, the narrower 510 size keeps a draw closer to a cigarette.
