Description

GTX V1 and GTX V2: what sets them apart

The GTX V1 coils from Vaporesso are the first generation of the GTX platform, heating through a mesh grid. Vaporesso then released the GTX V2: the same heating principle, but with an extra silicone seal to better contain the e-liquid, flagged by the words "Triple Silicon Protection" on its box. Several recent GTX devices accept only the V2: identify your gear carefully before ordering.

Which value should you choose?

  • 0.15ohm and 0.2ohm: for direct-to-lung inhalation (DL), the vapour going straight to the lungs, with a large volume of vapour; the 0.2ohm box states 45 to 60W
  • 0.3ohm and 0.4ohm: still an open draw, at intermediate power
  • 0.6ohm: between two styles, for a slightly restrained draw
  • 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm: for mouth-to-lung inhalation (MTL), a tight draw at low power, a feel close to a cigarette

Each box shows the wattage range for its value: set your device to the lowest figure, then adjust.

Compatible hardware

These coils suit GTX hardware that accepts the first generation. For the GTX GO 40, GTX GO 80 and Luxe 80 kits, take the GTX V2 coils. If in doubt, compare with the coil supplied with your device or refer to its instructions. GTi coils belong to another platform and do not fit in place of GTX ones. All the families are in the coils category.

Frequently asked questions

Can a GTX V1 replace a V2?

Not on a device designed for the V2 and its extra seal. Conversely, Vaporesso states that its current GTX coils are compatible with older models such as the Target PM80 or the Luxe PM40.

How do I start a new coil?

Moisten the cotton through the side openings, install the coil, fill the pod or the tank and wait a few minutes for the wick to soak up the liquid. Take the first puffs at the bottom of the range.
