The original Zeus, short and stocky

The Zeus Sub-Ohm tank from Geekvape is the first generation, released in 2020, of the Zeus family with ready-made coils. It is made for direct-to-lung (DL) inhalation: you draw the vapour straight into the lungs, with a wide draw, on a box that delivers power. Its size sets it apart from newer models: 42.5mm tall without the drip tip and 26mm in diameter, it stays low and does not overhang a box that is 26mm wide.

To fill up, turn the top cap a quarter turn: the filling openings are freed, and the tank stays screwed onto the box. Air enters at the top then goes back down to the coil, and its opening is adjustable. This route keeps the air inlets away from the e-liquid, which limits leaks from the bottom. The domed glass holds 5ml, and a 3.5ml straight glass waits in the box in case of breakage.

Compatibility

This Zeus works with the Z Series coils 5 Pack, which cover the values supplied, and with the Z XM Boost coils 5 Pack, whose reinforced mesh core wears out more slowly. The domed glass is replaced with the Zeus 5.5ml glass, common to the whole Zeus family. To power it, plan on a box that reaches 80W, among the box mods.

Frequently asked questions

Zeus Sub-Ohm, Z Subohm SE, Z Fli 2 or Zeus Sub-Ohm 5: which should I choose?

All accept the same Z coils. This first-generation model is the most compact. The Z Subohm SE adds a lockable cap, the Z Fli 2 opens by flipping its cap and the Zeus Sub-Ohm 5 accepts a 7ml glass.

What power for the installed coil?

Geekvape recommends 70 to 80W for the factory-fitted Z 0.2ohm. The Z 0.4ohm is happy with less: start low and increase in small steps.

How do I recognise this generation?

By its small size and its 5ml domed glass. The later versions, Zeus Sub-Ohm 2021 and Z Subohm SE, go to 5.5ml and are taller.
