How do I choose a pod for my device?

The pod is the part that holds the e-liquid on a pod kit. It is the pod that wears out, not the device: choosing it well means keeping the same flavour from the first day to the last.

Spotting the right product

A pod is designed for one specific kit model, and only that one. To find yours, note the name printed on the body of your device and look for it in the table below. Watch out for the generation: the VMate pods and the VMate V2 pods are not the same, any more than the XLIM and the NeXLIM, even if the kits look alike. If you no longer have the device in front of you, the product page of your pod kit shows the matching pod.

Empty pod or pod with a built-in coil?

A pod with a built-in coil is replaced as a whole as soon as the flavour fades: this is how most recent pods work, and it is the simplest option day to day. An empty pod takes a removable coil that is changed on its own: the tank lasts for months and only the coil, a few euros, is replaced. The empty pod costs less to run, while the built-in coil version needs no fiddling at all. The empty xTank pods, Armour G or PnP X DTL work on this principle.

What value in ohms should I choose?

The value in ohms of a pod decides the type of vape. Above 1ohm, the draw is tight, close to a cigarette (mouth-to-lung, known as MTL), with little vapour: this is the setting for e-liquids with a high nicotine strength. Between 0.3 and 0.8ohm, the draw becomes airy and the vapour and flavour increase: keep these for low-nicotine liquids. Our pods range from 0.3 to 1.4ohm, mostly mesh. Some, like the Argus Multi-Ohm pods, offer several values in the same box.

How many pods are in a box?

Pods are almost always sold in packs: 2 or 3 most often, sometimes 4 or 5 like the Caliburn pods or the WideWick. The pack size is shown in the title of each product (x2, x3, x4). Only large-capacity pods, like the Unione 10ml pod, are sold singly.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a pod last?

A pod with a built-in coil lasts one to three weeks on average. Its lifespan depends mostly on the liquid used: very sweet, dessert e-liquids clog the coil much faster than classic or menthol ones. The signal is clear: the flavour goes flat first, then turns burnt.

Can I refill a pod with a built-in coil more than once?

Yes, a pod with a built-in coil can be refilled several times, generally three to five times before the flavour drops. The tank is not single-use: it is the coil, sealed inside, that wears out and decides when the whole pod is changed.

Why is my pod leaking?

A leaking pod almost always has one of three causes: an e-liquid too thin for a low-ohm coil, a pod not pushed fully onto its kit, or a fill right to the brim without leaving the air bubble at the top of the tank. Also check the filling seal: a seal not put back properly lets liquid through with every puff.

Can a pod from another brand fit my device?

No, a pod does not fit across brands: each manufacturer has its own dimensions and its own contacts. Even within one manufacturer, two generations of the same kit sometimes need different pods, like the Vinci S and the Vinci V2. If in doubt, rely on the full name written on your device rather than on appearance.

What should I do when a burnt taste appears?

A burnt taste means the wick is no longer being fed with e-liquid: the coil is worn out, or the tank has dropped too low. If the pod has a built-in coil, it needs replacing. If the coil is removable, only the coil is changed and the tank is kept. Remember to wait a few minutes after each fill, while the wick soaks.
