A dual-battery box mod that fears neither water nor dust

The Armour Octa box mod from Vaporesso is the version of the Armour Octa without a tank. It suits vapers who already have a favourite atomizer and are looking for a powerful base to take on a building site, a hike or a trip. It takes two 18650 batteries, sold separately, and climbs to 220W: plenty to power a sub ohm tank.

Its body is rated IP6X (dust), IPX8 (immersion) and IPX9K (high-pressure water jets), and it withstands a 1.2-metre drop; the USB-C port is closed by a cover. Day to day, the 0.96-inch TFT screen shows your settings in colour, and the Boost mode of the AXON 3.0 chipset keeps heating steady throughout the inhale. The non-slip silicone coating stops the box mod slipping from your fingers.

Which tank should you use it with?

The box mod screws onto tanks with a 510 connection. Vaporesso offers it as a kit with the iTank T: that is the Armour Octa kit. To build your own set, take the iTank T tank or its iTank T Dual Mesh version, which work with the GTi Dual Mesh coils. All the other models are in the tanks category.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an external charger for the Armour Octa box mod?

It is not compulsory: both batteries recharge in the box mod with the supplied USB-C cable. An external charger is still handy if you rotate several pairs of batteries.

Can I use it in the rain?

Yes, the box mod is rated IPX8. Just remember to close the USB-C port cover properly and to dry the box mod before plugging it in.
